Light Measuring

In this category are on sale at Tadaah all the products related to the measurement of light through the subdivision of the different effects that compose it and of which we are going to explain the functioning and their applications for use.

Glossimeter:
- Function: Measures the degree of gloss or shine of a surface by reflecting light onto it at a specific angle and measuring the amount of reflected light. The result is expressed in units of gloss.
- Applications: Used to assess and control the gloss of surfaces in industries such as painting, plastic production, paper, textiles, etc.

Luxometer:
- Function: Measures illuminance, i.e. the amount of visible light striking a given area. It expresses the measurement in lux (lumens per square metre) using a light sensor.
- Applications: Used to assess the amount of light present in environments such as offices, factories, streets, public lighting and other contexts where it is important to monitor the level of illumination.

Spectrometer:
- Function: Analyses the spectral distribution of light, breaking it down into its spectral components. This instrument provides detailed information on the wavelength and intensity of light.
- Applications: Used in spectroscopy, analytical chemistry, particle physics and astronomy. In illumination, it can be used to analyse the colour rendering of a light source.

Solarimeter:
- Function: Measures the total solar radiation received by a surface over a given period of time. It can also include the direct and diffuse components of solar radiation.
- Applications: Used to monitor solar radiation in various contexts, such as solar energy, agriculture, architecture and climatology.

In summary, the glossmeter deals with the glossiness of surfaces, the luxmeter measures ambient illuminance, the spectrometer analyses the spectral distribution of light, and the solarimeter measures total solar radiation. Each of these instruments is designed for specific purposes and contributes to the characterisation of different aspects of light and the environment.
