In quality control it enables repeatable evaluation of coatings, prints and materials under standardised lighting conditions, helping to prevent disputes and avoid rework.
In practice, two samples may look identical under one light source yet appear different under another (for example daylight versus retail lighting). This effect—caused by different spectral compositions of the materials and the illuminant—can lead to inconsistent decisions between production, customer and supplier. By checking the same sample under multiple standard light sources, the light booth highlights potential colour deviations early and supports reliable acceptance criteria.
The unit provides six built-in light sources as standard: A/F, D50 (artificial daylight), TL84/F11 (department store lighting), UV, CWF (office/commercial/warehouse) and TL83/U30 (US retail/office). Light selection is made via dedicated buttons and multiple lights can be switched on simultaneously if required. The integrated hour counter helps track lamp usage, while the housing is designed for easy cleaning and low-maintenance operation with a large illuminated viewing area for the test object.
