BAR GUIDE BUSHES

Guide bushings are used to contain the rotating bar within a main spindle. Their function is to keep the rotation center of the bar aligned, thus containing the centrifugal force of the rotating bar within the main spindle of a lathe. The centrifugal force of the bar, generated by the rotation of the main spindle, is directly proportional to the dimensions of the bar, as it is calculated through the cutting speed. The use of guide bushings is important especially for bars with small diameters or profiled sections, as the rotation speed of the main spindle increases with the reduction of the bar section. The absence of these guide bushings causes the bars to oscillate and rotate off-center, creating vibrations in the lathe during machining operations. This can lead to short pieces, abnormal wear of the components and accessories of the main spindle, wear on the high-precision bearings of the main spindle, and a decrease in the clamping force of the bar. The bushings provided by Tadaah are made of high-quality steels. In some cases, special executions according to Tadaah's drawings are also carried out to avoid the problems highlighted.
