Mori-Say

Standard cams for Mori-Say multi-spindle automatic lathes are critical mechanical components designed to control machine kinematics by converting rotary motion from the camshaft into reciprocating linear motion. They are engineered for 6- and 8-spindle machines, including Mori Say 6/25, 6/32, 8/25, 8/32 and 8/42 models, ensuring reliability and compatibility in high-volume production environments.

The cam profile is the key factor determining machining accuracy. Profile resolution and geometric precision directly influence tool path control, affecting final part geometry. Proper cam design minimizes backlash, transmission play and form errors, ensuring process stability and high repeatability.

Radial cams control cross slides during plunge turning, profiling and external machining operations, enabling the use of form tools and advanced units such as polygon turning devices, thread chasers, thread milling heads, radial drilling units and fine finishing tools. Longitudinal cams control front tool movements, supporting drilling, tapping, die threading, broaching and pick-up operations.

Advanced setups allow cams to be used in paired or combined configurations to perform complex axial machining, long polygonal operations and internal processing, significantly extending machine capability. These cams are suitable for machining a wide range of materials, including alloy steels, stainless steels, aluminum alloys, brass and bronze, with particular attention to chip control, especially when machining long-chip materials.

Custom cams are specifically designed to enhance chip control and machining accuracy, enabling precise and dynamic management of machine movements. Dedicated cam profiles improve chip breaking, reduce accumulation and friction, and stabilize the machining process even when working with long-chip materials, while significantly increasing geometric accuracy and dimensional repeatability.
