What is an Adjustable Carbide Bushing?

The adjustable carbide guide bush is a tool used in sliding headstock lathes swiss type to support the bar during machining of the workpiece.
It is made according to the diameter of the bar to be machined and the hole drilled in the bush is perfectly precise and smooth. Being cut transversely along the axis, by acting on a ring nut and counter ring nut, we can adjust the diameter of the hole so that the bar slides perfectly without interference and above all without gap

How an adjustable carbide bush for sliding headstock swiss type works?

The guide bush functions as a support when machining tools on a sliding headstock lathe and its function is to interpose itself between the spindle collet and the tool being machined.
The main spindle of the CNC sliding headstock lathe is located behind the guide bush, has a bar clamp and advances the bar whose feed speed is calculated according to the machining parameters defined by the type of tool, coolant and material to be machined. Before meeting the tool, the bar slides through the carbide bush, which is perfectly aligned and concentric to the spindle and the bar's axis of rotation.
