It provides 4 standard illuminants (D65, A, TL84, UV 365 nm) to reduce colour disputes and rejects. Compliant with ASTM D1729 and ISO 3664, it features an hour counter per light source plus switch-on counting to manage lamp replacement (recommended within 2000 h). The PCE-CIC 5-LED light booth allows direct visual colour comparison of products during development or ongoing production, supporting consistent quality and reliable acceptance decisions. Checking the same sample under different standard light sources is crucial because a pair of samples can look identical under one illuminant yet appear different under another (for example daylight versus retail lighting). This lighting-dependent mismatch can cause rework, rejects or disputes; the light booth helps reveal such differences before serial production and during routine QC.
The unit includes four light types: D65 (standard daylight), TL84 (department store lighting), A (incandescent/domestic light) and UV (365 nm). An integrated counter tracks operating hours for each light source and also counts switching events, helping users replace lamps neither too early nor too late (recommended service time up to 2000 hours). The interior is finished with neutral Munsell N8 coating, while the design supports quick installation, easy use and a generously illuminated viewing area.
