The 15.01.602 feed finger tube for Gildemeister GM20 provides controlled bar feeding up to 25 mm through a cam driven mechanism and is recommended for lighter machining in the 20 to 25 mm range. It works with ring 1501604, keys 1501606, screws 1501611 and nut 1501605 to ensure guided sliding, transmitted rotation, backlash control, vibration reduction and accurate feeding against the bar stop.
The 15.01.602 feed finger tube is the main component of the bar feeding system for Gildemeister GM20 multi spindle automatic lathes in the version for bars up to 25 mm diameter. Its function is to convert the command generated by the machine kinematic system into a controlled axial movement, allowing the feed tube to push the bar through the bar feed finger up to the bar stop and enabling automatic and repeatable production of turned parts. The component is designed and manufactured to work with bars up to 25 mm diameter, but because it operates with guiding and connection elements with a slimmer section, this version is recommended for lighter work in the 20 to 25 mm range, where the priority is smooth feeding, positioning accuracy and vibration containment without subjecting the assembly to heavy loads. From a kinematic point of view the feed tube works with sliding ring 1501604, keys 1501606, fixing screws 1501611 and connecting nut 1501605, forming an assembly that guides axial translation, prevents unwanted rotation in the sliding areas, transfers rotation to the connected group and keeps the system aligned during the automatic cycle. The ring allows sliding along the longitudinal grooves, the keys create the mechanical guiding constraint, the screws keep the keys locked in their seats and the nut connects the feed finger tube to the bar clamping feed tube through its external thread, allowing all components of the group to receive rotation through the nut itself. This architecture ensures uniform motion transmission and perfect synchronization with the rotation of the main spindles mounted inside the spindle drum, which is essential to maintain feeding continuity and repeatability against the bar stop. During preventive and corrective maintenance the feed tube must be checked for straightness, sliding quality, groove wear, proper coupling with ring and keys, absence of abnormal backlash, screw clamping stability and correct nut connection. An efficient feed tube helps reduce dimensional errors, form errors, misalignment, runout, vibration of the rotating bar and irregular feed conditions that may affect the quality of the turned part. Adjustments are mainly carried out through the cam lever ratio and the associated mechanical references, allowing stroke and feeding force to be adapted according to material, bar diameter and machining type.
