The 15.01.604 sliding ring is an interface component of the Gildemeister GM20 bar feeding system for the version up to 25 mm, designed to guide feed finger tube 1501602 during the axial movement required to feed the material. Its main function is to provide a stable seat for keys 1501606, which are mounted in the dedicated housing and fixed by screws 1501611. Through this coupling the feed tube can slide along the longitudinal grooves while maintaining controlled guidance, limiting unwanted rotation, lateral movement and loss of accuracy during the bar pushing phase against the bar stop. In the kinematic group the ring works as a centering, guiding and load distribution element: it receives the stresses generated by cam controlled feeding, transfers them through the keys and keeps the feed tube on the correct sliding path. In the configuration for bars up to 25 mm the system is recommended for lighter operations in the 20 to 25 mm range, because the balance between component section, axial guidance and applied loads must remain consistent with the structure of the assembly. A correctly fitted ring reduces backlash, vibration, mechanical noise, micro misalignment and localized wear in the grooves, contributing to feed repeatability and dimensional quality of the turned parts. Its lateral position is maintained by nut 1501605, which also connects the feed finger tube to the bar clamping feed tube and transmits rotation to the assembly. For this reason the ring is not a simple spacer, but a functional element of the kinematic chain: it contributes to guided sliding, preservation of group geometry and continuity of rotation and feed. During preventive or corrective maintenance it is important to inspect the key seats, absence of deep scoring, proper coupling with the feed tube, flatness of the contact faces, screw tightening and absence of abnormal axial or radial backlash. A worn or deformed ring can cause irregular feeding, form errors, dimensional variation on the part, instability of the rotating bar and loss of functional synchronization with the main spindles mounted inside the spindle drum.
