The digital refractometer is specially designed to determine the sugar content of wort using a small amount of sample. It is based on measuring the refractive index of a liquid. To obtain a meaningful result, simply place a few drops of the liquid in the stainless steel well. The built-in light source prevents measurement errors that occur when using an analogue refractometer and that are caused by artificial light, such as fluorescent lamps.

After temperature compensation (10-40 °C), the measured value is displayed quickly and accurately on the easy-to-read LCD display. The operator can choose between two different units of measurement: Brix (0-50.00%) and Wort D20/20 or relative density (1,000-1,130). The liquid temperature value can also be shown on the display.
The refractometer has a plastic cap to close it and is designed so that the glass prism is protected from damage. It consists of 3 buttons that ensure convenient and simple operation, virtually ruling out the possibility of a malfunction, and has an automatic switch-off function to prolong battery life. The wine refractometer automatically switches off after 1 minute of inactivity.
The user can calibrate the refractometer at any time by placing a few drops of distilled water in the sample well and pressing the corresponding button to start calibration.
