The PCE-OM 15 stroboscope offers the possibility of using an external trigger and works with a 6,500 K xenon lamp, equipped with a x2 and x½ multiplication switch. Each flash illuminates the object for a brief instant, but a quick succession of flashes allows the human eye to perceive a continuous, film-like image. This microprocessor-controlled, 230V-powered stroboscope is ideal for checking revolutions in transmissions and engines, allowing inspections without stopping machines, saving time and money.

The PCE-OM 15 Stroboscope offers the option to connect an external trigger, expanding its applications. Equipped with a xenon bulb with 6,500 K and a switch for multiplication x2 and x½, it allows illuminating a moving object for a very brief moment with each flash. When the flashes are rapid and consecutive, the human eye perceives a continuous sequence of images, similar to a film, creating the illusion of fluid motion.

This portable stroboscope allows observing details that would otherwise be invisible to the naked eye. Thanks to its microprocessor control and 230V power supply, it is particularly effective for checking rpm in transmissions, engines, and similar applications. It is ideal for maintenance and preventive inspection, as it does not require stopping machines or systems during inspection. This approach not only optimizes working time but also helps save economic resources.

Function and Applications of the Stroboscope
An stroboscope is an essential measurement device for obtaining fixed images of moving parts. Used in typography to check printing rollers and in industry to determine the speed of rotating parts, this tool is crucial for various applications.

Flash Frequency
Before purchasing a stroboscope, it is crucial to define its specific application. The flash frequency generated is a key aspect. Some industrial models reach thousands of hertz, allowing optical inspection of rapid sequences.

Type of Light Source
Another important factor is the type of light source. Modern LED flashes feature powerful LED matrices, providing complete illumination comparable to traditional xenon bulbs. Some stroboscopes enlarge the LED matrix to properly inspect wide and moving parts, such as paper strips. There are also models with UV LED light sources for non-destructive testing in maintenance.

Trigger and Synchronization
The mode of trigger for the light source is another selection criterion. A basic flash has an internal regulator, while more advanced models have an external trigger input for speed sensors, ensuring that flashes are always synchronized with the object's speed. This is particularly useful when rollers rotate at different speeds, such as in paper production or testing printed products.

Frequency Adjustment and Phasing
Modern flashes offer frequency adjustment and the ability to adjust phasing. This function allows briefly delaying the flash impulse to obtain an "optically rotating" image, shifting the marks on moving parts to the correct position.

Power and Power Supply Type
For portable stroboscopes, power is crucial. If the use is occasional, a battery model is sufficient; for frequent use, a model with rechargeable batteries is recommended. Fixed models are generally powered by a power supply or directly from the electrical grid.

IP Protection Rating
Finally, the IP protection rating is an important factor, indicating protection against dust and water. For harsh environments, a model with an IP67 rating is ideal, offering optimal protection against external environmental influences.
