The mechanical durometer is designed for measuring the surface hardness (Shore A) of materials such as very soft rubbers and elastomers, as well as soft plastics. The instrument is made from a single robust block with an integrated measuring head and a 360º anti-reflective dial, which allows for a clear and precise reading of results. It can be calibrated at any time to maintain accuracy. The drag pointer, a distinctive feature, enables precise peak value reading by remaining fixed at the maximum value reached during the test. After reading, the pointer can be easily reset to zero for a new measurement cycle, enhancing operational efficiency in repetitive testing contexts.

The mechanical hardness testers is a precision instrument designed for measuring the surface hardness of elastomeric materials and soft plastics using the Shore A scale. It consists of a single body with a measuring head and a 360º anti-reflective dial, allowing easy reading of results under any lighting conditions. Its robustness and simple construction make it ideal for use in industrial environments, testing laboratories, and quality control.
Using the durometer is straightforward: the penetration body, set at a 35º angle according to the Shore A standard, is pressed against the surface of the material to be tested. The gauge provides a value representing the material's hardness on a scale from 0 to 100 Shore A, with an optimal measuring range between 10 and 90 to ensure maximum precision. An innovative drag pointer enables precise peak value reading by remaining fixed at the maximum measurement point, while the 57 mm diameter dial provides a clear and detailed display.
The hardness testers is ideal for quality control of rubber components, elastomers, and soft plastics in industrial settings, such as seals, O-rings, hoses, and other critical applications. Its compact structure makes it easily transportable in its small carrying case, allowing measurements to be taken both on-site and in the field. For those requiring certified traceability, ISO certification can be requested as an additional option, ensuring compliance with international standards.
The device can be calibrated at any time to maintain high precision, with an error limit restricted to ±1, ensuring reliable results. With a pressure force ranging from 0 to 12.5 N, the durometer offers the versatility needed to adapt to various measurement needs. High precision, reliability, and compliance with regulations make this instrument indispensable for technicians and engineers specializing in the maintenance and quality control of elastomeric and plastic materials.
