OPTIMUM Optidrill DH geared column drill with cross table, heavy cast-iron construction, wide speed range from 95 to 3,200 min⁻¹ and two-stage industrial motor. Equipped with right/left rotation, thread cutting function, automatic quill feed, drilling depth stop adjustable from 0 to 120 mm, ±45° tilting head, cross table adjustable by three handwheels, adjustable end stops, base plate usable as a work surface for tall workpieces and coolant system.

The OPTIMUM Optidrill DH geared column drill with cross table is a robust and precise machine tool designed for drilling, tapping and mechanical operations on metal workpieces. Its heavy solid cast-iron construction provides stability, rigidity and reliability during use, reducing vibration and improving machining control even on demanding parts.

Smooth running is supported by ground gears operating in an oil bath. This solution ensures regular power transmission, reduces component wear and contributes to long machine life. The two-stage industrial electric motor allows the machine to be adapted to different operating conditions, providing good torque for demanding operations and steady performance in repetitive work.

The wide speed range from 95 to 3,200 min⁻¹ allows the operator to select the most suitable spindle speed according to tool diameter, material and operation type. Lower speeds are suitable for larger drilling diameters, tapping and operations requiring higher torque, while higher speeds are useful for smaller holes and faster machining on compatible materials.

Right/left rotation and the thread cutting function extend the machine’s application range, making it suitable not only for drilling but also for producing internal threads. The automatic quill feed provides more uniform and controlled machining: the drilling depth stop is adjustable from 0 to 120 mm and, when the preset depth is reached, the feed is automatically deactivated and the quill returns to its initial position by spring force.

The head can be tilted sideways by ±45°, allowing angled drilling and machining on workpieces requiring a specific position in relation to the spindle axis. Height adjustment of the gear head and table makes it possible to adapt the machine to workpieces of different sizes, increasing flexibility in workshop operations.

The cross table is large, solid and precisely surface-finished. Adjustment via three handwheels and the integrated longitudinal scale allow the workpiece to be positioned with greater control than on a standard table. This configuration is particularly useful for repetitive drilling, controlled axis movements and operations requiring accurate reference positioning. Adjustable end stops on the cross table help repeat dimensions and improve efficiency in work cycles.

The table guides can be precisely adjusted via wedge strips, maintaining smooth movement, stability and accuracy over time. The solid and precisely machined base plate can be used as a work surface for particularly tall workpieces by swivelling or moving the cross table away. This allows larger components to be handled while maintaining stable support.

The supplied coolant system is an important advantage in metalworking, as it helps control tool and workpiece temperature during drilling and tapping. Coolant use helps reduce overheating, improve hole quality, limit tool wear and make machining more stable, especially with larger diameters, tougher materials or repetitive cycles.

Standard equipment includes 1–13 mm / B16 geared drill chuck, MT4-MT3 reducing sleeve, MT4-B16 adapter, service keys, T-nuts and coolant system. Before machining, the workpiece should always be secured with suitable clamping devices, speed and feed should be selected correctly, drilling depth should be set and coolant should be used when required by the material or tool.
