The brazed carbide shell type straight machine reamers with K10 micrograin carbide, 1/30 tapered bore and 5° left-hand inclined flutes are designed for accurate finishing of cylindrical holes, especially on medium and large diameters. The shell type design allows mounting on dedicated reamer arbors, while carbide provides wear resistance, dimensional stability and good surface finish on conventional and CNC machine tools.

The shell type straight machine reamers with brazed carbide cutting edges, K10 micrograin carbide, 1/30 tapered bore and 5° left-hand inclined flutes are professional tools designed for finishing, sizing and dimensional correction of existing holes on conventional and CNC machine tools. They are used when a hole must be brought to its final size with accuracy, good roundness, geometric stability and controlled surface finish.

The shell type design identifies a hollow reamer without an integral shank, intended for mounting on suitable arbors, reamer holders or compatible driving systems. This solution is particularly useful for medium and large diameters, where a solid shank tool would be less practical, more expensive or less flexible. The shell design allows the reamer to be replaced while keeping the same holding system, offering advantages in tool management, modularity and machine setup.

A reamer is not intended to create the hole from solid material, but to finish it after drilling, boring or rough machining. The tool removes a small and controlled amount of material from the internal diameter, improving the geometry of the seat and correcting minor irregularities left by the previous tool. This allows calibrated holes to be produced for precise mechanical fits with bushes, pins, shafts, dowel pins, guides, supports, cylindrical seats and technical assembly components.

The brazed carbide construction with K10 micrograin carbide combines a robust tool body with carbide cutting edges, offering a good balance between rigidity, wear resistance and cutting precision. K10 micrograin carbide is particularly suitable for finishing operations where a stable cutting edge, good surface quality and tool life are required. Compared with high-speed steel reamers, carbide provides higher wear resistance and better dimensional stability under correct working conditions.

The 1/30 tapered bore provides precise connection with the corresponding toolholder. Correct cleaning of the taper, runout control and coaxial mounting are essential to achieve the best performance. Chips, dirt, dents or misalignment in the coupling area may compromise concentricity, surface finish and dimensional accuracy of the hole.

The 5° left-hand inclined flutes support stable and controlled machining. The left-hand inclination helps reduce the tendency of the tool to self-feed, improves cutting regularity and contributes to a more uniform finish. This geometry is suitable for cylindrical reaming operations where hole control, dimensional repeatability and consistent internal surface quality are required.

For best results, the hole must be prepared with a suitable stock allowance. If the pre-hole is too small, the reamer must remove too much material, increasing load, heat, wear and risk of chipping on the carbide cutting edges. If the pre-hole is too close to the final size, the tool may not cut uniformly over the full surface, leaving scoring, geometric defects or uneven finish.

During use, a stable machine, constant feed, suitable lubrication and accurate alignment between tool and hole are recommended. The rigidity of the machine-toolholder-workpiece system is essential, especially with shell type reamers and larger diameters. Vibration, unstable clamping, eccentricity or incorrect mounting may cause ovality, scoring, loss of size accuracy and reduced tool life.

These reamers are suitable for precision machine shops, CNC departments, machine building, industrial maintenance, toolrooms, automotive, mechanical component production and subcontract machining. They are particularly useful for cylindrical seats, fitting holes, bush housings, supports, guides, plates, machine bodies and components where hole accuracy directly affects assembly, coaxiality and function.

The brazed carbide shell type straight machine reamers with K10 micrograin carbide, 1/30 tapered bore and 5° left-hand inclined flutes are a professional solution for finishing accurate cylindrical holes, especially on medium and large diameters and in applications where modularity, rigidity and hole quality are essential. The combination of shell type design, brazed carbide cutting edges, tapered bore and inclined flute geometry enables reliable machining on conventional and CNC machine tools.
