The solid carbide machine reamers for automatic machines, DIN 8089, K20 micrograin carbide, with 6° left-hand spiral flutes and Latuma coating, are precision tools designed for finishing, sizing and dimensional correction of existing holes in automatic, repetitive and continuous production cycles. They are particularly suitable when a hole must be brought to its final size with high accuracy, good roundness, controlled surface finish and consistent repeatability over large production runs.

Their function is not to create the hole from solid material, but to finish it after drilling, boring or rough machining. The reamer removes a small and controlled amount of material from the internal diameter, improving the geometry of the seat and making the hole suitable for precise mechanical fits with dowel pins, pins, bushes, small shafts, guides, centering components and technical assembly parts.

The solid K20 micrograin carbide construction provides high rigidity, wear resistance and dimensional stability. Compared with high-speed steel reamers, solid carbide reduces tool deflection and maintains cutting edge stability for longer. This is especially important on automatic machines, where the tool must work continuously, maintain hole quality over many parts and reduce interruptions for tool replacement, adjustment and intermediate checks.

Clamping must be stable, coaxial and low-runout, because even small misalignments can affect concentricity, roundness and tool life. It is advisable to regularly check the toolholder, seat cleanliness, lubrication and chip evacuation, especially in high-repeatability cycles.

During use, cutting parameters must be consistent with the material, hole depth and stock to be removed. Constant feed, correct coolant supply and good chip evacuation help improve surface finish, reduce heat, preserve the cutting edge and keep hole size stable over time. Vibration, reverse rotation inside the hole, unstable clamping and uncontrolled working conditions should be avoided.
