Bushing 3101110 is a support and wear component for the bar collet clamping unit used on Gildemeister DMG Mori GS20 and GM20AC multi-spindle lathes. The component is seated in stable contact with wheel 0801008 of the main spindle and works as a fulcrum, stop face and reaction point for clamping fingers 3101108. When bell 0801351 slides on sleeve 3160202, the bushing allows the coupled components to transmit the axial and radial forces required to command the opening and closing movement of the bar collet. In this application the assembly is used with 9012E bar collets for machining bars up to a maximum diameter of 20 mm and with 9017E bar collets for machining bars up to a maximum diameter of 25 mm. The main function of the bushing is to provide a stable front support for the clamping fingerss, maintaining the correct contact geometry between bell, sleeve, main spindle wheel and bar clamping elements. From a kinematic point of view, the part contributes to the transformation of the bell sliding movement into mechanical action on the collet, stabilises the fulcrum point of the clamping fingers, distributes contact pressure, limits misalignment and supports repeatability of the bar clamping and release cycle. Although it is not a driving element, the bushing works within the kinematic chain of the main spindle and supports secondary functions linked to motion continuity, correct centring of the system, regular return of the control elements and protection of the functional surfaces subject to rubbing. During machine operation, the quality of this support affects the regularity of collet closing, the stability of the bar during machining and the reduction of play or abnormal wear that could compromise clamping accuracy. As an important wear part, it must be checked periodically and replaced when cuts, front impressions caused by the clamping fingerss, deformation of the stop surface or loss of flatness in the contact area are visible. Timely replacement of bushing 3101110 helps preserve correct operation of the bar collet unit, reduces the risk of irregular clamping and keeps the opening and closing kinematics of the main spindle efficient on GS20 and GM20AC machines.
