The machine reamers for taper pin holes with 1:50 taper ratio, DIN 2179 / UNI 6857, made of HSSE steel, are designed for accurate finishing of tapered seats intended for taper pins. The 42° left-hand spiral supports stable cutting, chip management and good finish, while machine operation provides greater repeatability and control than manual use. Ideal for machine building, maintenance, toolroom work and CNC machining.

275 UTENSILERIA OSSOLANA Machine reamer in HSS for taper pins holes, with nominal diameter of choice from Dia. 2 to Dia. 20 and cutting edges left helix 42° , taper ratio 1:50

The machine reamers for taper pin holes with 1:50 taper ratio, DIN 2179 / UNI 6857, made of HSSE steel with 42° left-hand spiral flutes, are precision cutting tools designed for finishing, sizing and geometric correction of tapered holes intended for taper pins. They are used when the hole must provide a progressive, stable and repeatable fit between the pin and the seat, avoiding play, misalignment or uneven internal surfaces.

The reamer is not intended to create the hole from solid material, but to finish a seat previously prepared by drilling, pre-reaming or preliminary machining. The tool removes a controlled amount of material and brings the hole to the required final taper. The 1:50 taper ratio is specific for taper pin holes and allows a regular tapered seat suitable for locking, centering and accurate positioning of mechanical components.

The machine type version is designed for use on drilling machines, lathes, milling machines, boring machines and CNC centers, where feed and rotation can be controlled more consistently than in manual operations. This provides better repeatability, especially in production, industrial maintenance, machine building, toolrooms and departments where multiple parts must be machined with the same geometric quality.

The HSSE steel construction provides higher wear resistance than standard HSS and ensures good cutting edge stability in professional machining. It is suitable for steels, alloys, cast irons, ferrous and non-ferrous materials, depending on the workpiece material, lubrication, stock allowance and cutting parameters. HSSE is a reliable choice when accuracy, tool life and consistent finishing quality are required.

The 42° left-hand spiral flutes support smooth, stable and controlled cutting. The pronounced helix contributes to chip management, improves cutting continuity and helps produce a more regular tapered surface. This geometry is particularly useful when reducing vibration, scoring and seat irregularities is important, while maintaining good accuracy along the full tapered hole length.

For best results, the pre-hole must be correctly prepared. The starting hole must be consistent with the taper pin to be installed and must leave a suitable stock allowance. If the pre-hole is too small, cutting force, heat, wear and risk of sticking increase. If the pre-hole is too close to the final size, the reamer may not cut uniformly over the entire tapered surface, leaving uncalibrated areas or uneven finish.

During use, the reamer must be accurately aligned with the hole axis, held with a rigid and stable clamping system and used with suitable lubrication. Misalignment, excessive runout, irregular feed or unstable clamping may cause uneven taper, ovality, scoring or difficulty when assembling the taper pin. Reverse rotation while the tool is inside the hole should be avoided to protect the cutting edges and preserve the machined surface.

These reamers are used in machine shops, CNC departments, machine building, industrial maintenance, automotive, toolrooms, mechanical fabrication and subcontract machining. They are particularly suitable for taper pin seats on shafts, levers, plates, supports, fixtures, removable mechanical assemblies and components where the pin must ensure centering, positioning and mechanical locking.

The HSSE machine reamers for taper pin holes with 1:50 taper ratio, DIN 2179 / UNI 6857 and 42° left-hand spiral are a professional solution for producing and finishing accurate, repeatable tapered seats on conventional and CNC machine tools. The combination of taper pin geometry, HSSE steel, machine operation and pronounced left-hand spiral enables consistent quality, dimensional control and reliable assembly.
