* What are the poles of an electric motor?

The poles of an electric motor are nothing more than the positive pole or the negative pole of the magnet (similar to that of a magnet). The minimum number of poles of an electric motor is two, one negative and the other positive. The winding and construction of an electric motor with 2, 4, or 6 poles is carried out to vary the speed of the motor. The frequency of the alternating current at 50 Hertz defines a change of direction of 50 cycles or times per second. Each cycle or change of frequency creates two magnetic fields for each pole. Transforming into a mathematical formula, we will have: 2 (magnetic field) x 50 (frequency) x 60 (transformation of frequency from seconds to minutes) Since the frequency varies depending on the various nations or countries, simplifying the mathematical formula, we will have: 120 x Hz The calculation of the motor speed depends on the rotation speed of the magnetic field and the frequency of the current, which is usually 50Hz in Europe, related to the number of poles that will result.

In conclusion, we can say that the more poles we have, the lower the number of revolutions will be. For example, a two-pole motor in Europe will have the following number of revolutions:

Number of revolutions = (120x50) = 6,000/2 = 3,000 revolutions/min

Precision drilling-tapping machines are advanced tools for mechanical machining, characterized by the following features:

  • Column structure with movable table: The base of the drill is mounted on a column, equipped with a movable table that allows the workpiece to move. This table can be micrometrically adjusted in height, and the drill head is adjustable.

  • Micrometric depth adjustment: This system allows precise setting of the desired drilling depth, ensuring high accuracy in operations.

  • Movable table on prismatic guides: The table moves on prismatic guides, ensuring stability and precision. The table lifting is carried out by a screw mechanism, ensuring controlled and precise movements.

  • Lighting system: The machine is equipped with an integrated lighting system, which improves visibility during drilling operations.

  • Cooling system: This system is designed to maintain the drill and the workpiece at optimal temperatures, preventing overheating and improving tool life.

  • Available versions: The drills are available in various configurations, including models with 1, 2, 3, and 4 heads, offering flexibility according to production needs.

  • Combined drill/tapping models IMM118TM: These models combine the functions of a drill and a tapping machine and are equipped with an automatic electric reversal system for the tap rotation. The reversal can be activated automatically at a preset depth or via a button located on the feed control lever.

  • Accurate construction with quality materials: The machine's construction is carried out with great attention to detail and using high-quality materials, ensuring robustness and reliability over time.

  • Testing according to ISO 2773 standards: Each machine is tested to comply with international ISO 2773 standards, ensuring high levels of quality and safety.

These features make precision sensitive drills ideal tools for high-precision and reliable operations in various industrial contexts.
