Chuck blocks are laminated support elements designed to assist in positioning and clamping irregularly shaped workpieces during grinding operations on magnetic chucks. Their main purpose is to eliminate the need for expensive custom clamping fixtures by providing a flexible and adaptable solution for holding complex components.

The laminated structure allows the magnetic flux generated by the magnetic chuck to extend through the block, enabling effective clamping of workpieces that cannot be placed directly on the chuck surface. Although the blocks themselves are not magnetic, their construction allows the magnetic field to be transmitted uniformly toward the workpiece.

For optimal performance, the blocks must be positioned parallel to the polarity of the magnetic chuck. This ensures that the magnetic flux passes correctly through the laminated structure and provides stable holding force on the component.

The square configuration with two 45° angles allows the support of inclined workpieces or parts with non-parallel surfaces, making these blocks particularly useful for precision grinding operations. In addition, the blocks can be machined or adapted to match the shape of the workpiece, improving clamping stability.
