DH 330-2 portable 3-knife thickness planer with 330 mm maximum planing width, 3.2–152 mm working height, 3.2 mm maximum cutting depth, two feed speeds 4–7 m/min, rubber infeed and outfeed rollers, pull-out workpiece supports, front and rear lighting and integrated extraction with 60–100 mm port. Ideal for woodworking, craft work, installation and preparing boards and strips to a uniform thickness.

The DH 330-2 portable 3-knife thickness planer is a woodworking machine designed to bring boards, strips, panels and wooden workpieces to a uniform and controlled thickness. It is suitable for woodworking shops, workshops, job sites, installers and craftsmen who need a compact yet precise machine for preparing material before assembly, gluing, sanding or finishing.

The maximum planing width of 330 mm allows workpieces of suitable size for craft and professional production to be processed. The working height adjustable from 3.2 to 152 mm makes it possible to handle materials of different thicknesses, while the maximum cutting depth of 3.2 mm allows material to be removed efficiently when correcting unevenness, height differences or irregular surfaces.

The planing unit is equipped with three knives and operates at 9,400 rpm, providing a good surface finish and regular workpiece processing. The solid quadruple spindle guide of the planing unit contributes to adjustment precision and stability during operation, reducing the risk of unwanted thickness variations.

The planing height is adjusted quickly by handwheel with locking steps, making it practical to set the desired thickness. The integrated display for cutting depth helps the operator control the setting and adjust material removal more accurately. Before machining, it is advisable to work with progressive passes, especially on hardwood or uneven pieces, to preserve surface quality and reduce machine load.

The machine offers two feed speeds, 4 and 7 m/min, allowing the work process to be adapted to the material and desired result. A lower feed speed is useful when a finer finish is required or when working with more demanding materials, while a higher feed speed can be selected for faster processing on suitable workpieces with limited material removal.

The built-in rubber infeed and outfeed rollers help preserve the workpiece surface during passage through the machine. This is important when working with boards that have already been partially prepared or materials requiring a clean surface. Pull-out workpiece supports on both sides improve support at infeed and outfeed, making longer pieces easier to handle and reducing the risk of tilting during feeding.

The planer is equipped with front and rear lighting, useful for improving visibility of the work area and monitoring material feed. Two storage shelves on the top of the machine allow accessories or small tools to be kept within reach. Integrated carrying handles make transport more practical, while the 49.5 kg weight provides stability during use.

The integrated extraction system with 60–100 mm port and chip collection bag helps keep the work area cleaner. Chip extraction is particularly important on thickness planers, as material build-up can reduce visibility, worsen surface quality and interfere with workpiece feed. For continuous use or workshop operation, connection to a suitable extraction unit is recommended.

In practical use, the workpiece should be checked before insertion to ensure there are no nails, screws, sand or foreign bodies that could damage the knives. It is important to support the material correctly, set an appropriate depth of cut and avoid forcing the feed. To obtain uniform surfaces, several light passes should be made while progressively checking the final thickness.

The DH 330-2 thickness planer is therefore a compact and professional solution for wood planing. The combination of 330 mm width, three knives, two feed speeds, quick height adjustment, pull-out supports, rubber rollers, lighting and integrated extraction makes it suitable for users who need workpieces with constant thickness, regular surface and good operating precision.
