The magnetometer represents an advanced measuring instrument designed to detect the intensity of both static (DC) and dynamic (AC) electromagnetic fields, playing a crucial role in a variety of industrial and scientific applications. This device is essential for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and for monitoring environmental conditions in laboratories and production facilities. Accurate detection of electromagnetic fields is fundamental to prevent harmful effects on the health of workers and to ensure the quality of final products.
The magnetometer comes with two sensors: a standard sensor for general measurements in units like Gauss and Millitesla, and a precision sensor capable of measuring in a range of Milligauss and Microtesla. This configuration allows for detection in a wide range of conditions, providing reliable data even in environments where more detailed and sensitive monitoring is required. Thanks to automatic temperature compensation, the magnetometer ensures accurate measurements even in variable environmental conditions, further increasing its versatility.
The device features a bright LCD display, providing a clear real-time reading of the measured values. This feature is particularly useful in situations where constant monitoring of exposure levels to electromagnetic fields is necessary, such as in industrial production lines or research laboratories. The display not only indicates the measured value but also provides information on the polarity of the static field (DC), allowing operators to have a comprehensive view of the situation.
Another key feature of the magnetometer is its ability to operate as a datalogger. This function allows for recording measured values on an SD memory card at predefined intervals, facilitating data analysis over time. Up to 99 measurements can be stored by simply pressing a button, and the data is archived in Excel format. This approach eliminates the need for additional software for reading and analyzing the data, making the entire process more streamlined and accessible.
Designed as a benchtop device, the magnetometer is particularly suited for stationary measurements in quality control, research laboratories, or in testing and development applications. Its robustness and reliability make it an ideal tool for professionals in engineering, physics, and manufacturing. Operators can use the magnetometer to monitor working conditions, ensuring that exposure levels to electromagnetic fields remain within defined safety limits.
Moreover, the magnetometer offers various operating modes, including the selection of measurement units (mG, µT), allowing users to adapt the instrument to their specific needs. The capability to connect the magnetometer to a PC via the serial interface provides further options for data analysis and storage, expanding its usability in more complex applications.
An additional aspect of its design is the automatic shutdown function, which helps prolong the device's lifespan and reduces energy consumption. The magnetometer can be powered by 6 AA 1.5V batteries or via a 9V power supply, making it extremely versatile and easy to integrate into various laboratory or industrial configurations.
In summary, the magnetometer presents itself as an indispensable tool for professionals and technicians requiring reliable and accurate measurements of electromagnetic fields. With its combination of robustness, precision, and versatility, it is a fundamental resource for ensuring safety and operational quality across a wide range of sectors.
