The plastic meter allows for the control of the melt flow of polymers up to 400 °C, featuring high thermal stability and reproducibility thanks to its automatic shutdown function. The 7" TFT touchscreen display clearly and immediately shows all essential parameters. The device includes preset materials such as PS, PP, PE, ABS, PC, PMMA, with the possibility of adding new polymers. It has a robust metal structure, weights included, and a flow index of up to 400 g/10 min.

A test stand is a laboratory instrument designed for the analysis of thermoplastic materials through the determination of their melt flow index. This parameter, also known as MFI, indicates the flow behavior and viscosity of polymers under specified conditions of temperature and pressure. The melt index tester integrated into the test stand enables fast, repeatable measurements compliant with ISO 1133, offering a reliable solution for incoming goods inspection and continuous production monitoring in plastic processing environments.

Equipped with a 7" TFT touchscreen, the system provides a clear visualization of all relevant test data. Thanks to the high temperature stability up to +400 °C, and a full set of calibrated test weights, the device guarantees consistent testing performance. The automatic cutting mechanism enhances reproducibility, allowing engineers to assess material characteristics with precision.

Preconfigured settings for standard plastic types such as PS, PP, PE, ABS, PC, PMMA, and others, reduce setup time. Additional polymers can be permanently added, along with their specific processing parameters. During a typical measurement, a granular sample is introduced into a heated barrel and subjected to a defined load. The molten polymer is extruded through a nozzle of standard dimensions, and the discharged mass is weighed after a set period, yielding the mass flow rate in g/10 min.

The test stand plays a critical role in evaluating polymer melt characteristics before and during manufacturing. It helps identify variations in polymerization degree, which directly affect the mechanical properties of molded components. Since many plastics are sensitive to moisture, testing also supports the optimization of pre-drying processes, preventing degradation due to hydrolytic cleavage during injection molding.

Ideal for quality control laboratories, research facilities, and production lines, the test stand ensures product consistency, reduces material waste, and supports cost-efficient manufacturing. Through early detection of process deviations, the melt index tester promotes stability in plastic part production and enhances overall production quality.
