The portable digital hardness tester is a highly specializedinstrument for measuring the hardness of materials, using the Leeb rebound principle. This device offers precise and reliable readings on a wide range of metallic surfaces, with a measurement range from 174HL to 960HL and the ability to measure different hardness units, including HL, HRB, HRC, HV, HB, and HS, as well as tensile strength (up to 2000 MPa for steel).
The hardness tester is compatible with materials such as steel, cast steel, alloy tool steel, stainless steel, gray cast iron, nodular iron, aluminum castings, brass, bronze, and copper. Accuracy and repeatability are ensured with an error margin of ±0.5% at HL=800.
To obtain accurate readings, it is essential that the workpiece has a minimum thickness of 3 mm (10 mm for the G probe) and a surface roughness of up to 10 μm. The convex/concave radius must be ≥ 30 mm, and the workpiece must weigh at least 5 kg. For lighter pieces, a solid support is necessary to ensure the precision of the measurements. The device also includes a built-in mini printer for immediate documentation of the results.
The hardness tester features internal memory capable of storing up to 10,000 readings in 100 files, with a USB data output for easy information transfer. Powered by 4 AA batteries or 4 rechargeable 1.25V batteries, the device is equipped with a 320x240 color TFT display for clear result visualization. Its dimensions are 215 mm (L) x 140 mm (W) x 45 mm (H), and it weighs 0.70 kg, including the batteries.
