The DIN EN 22568 HSS-G fully ground circular dies are designed for producing external ISO metric threads according to DIN 13 on rods, pins, studs, special screws and mechanical components that need to be manufactured or repaired. The fully ground HSS-G high-speed steel construction provides accurate cutting geometry, stable thread profile and consistent thread quality, making these dies suitable for workshop use, maintenance operations, toolrooms, mechanical engineering and industrial repair applications.

The 60° thread profile, 6g tolerance and closed pre-slotted Form B geometry allow regular and controlled external metric threads to be produced. The closed Form B design is suitable when stable and repeatable threading is required, with good tool guidance during feed into the workpiece. The pre-slotted construction helps distribute cutting forces and supports correct thread formation while maintaining the required metric thread profile. These dies are suitable for materials with tensile strength up to approximately 800 N/mm², such as structural steels, unalloyed steels, free-cutting steels, mild steels and general metallic materials compatible with HSS-G cutting tools.

To obtain accurate threads, the external workpiece diameter must be prepared correctly before threading, a suitable chamfer must be made at the end of the part, the die must be kept perfectly perpendicular to the component axis and proper cutting lubricant must be used. Incorrect alignment, wrong workpiece diameter or insufficient lubrication can cause incomplete threads, torn thread profiles, increased cutting effort, premature die wear or difficult tool feed. During machining, progressive cutting and periodic chip breaking are recommended, especially on larger diameters or tougher materials.
