Differential GO / NO GO plug gauges for internal American NPTF taper pipe threads according to ANSI / ASME B1.20.3 and B1.20.4. Suitable for fittings, valves, pneumatic, hydraulic and fluid power components requiring precise tapered threads with sealing function. The GO side verifies thread acceptance, while the NO GO side checks the tolerance limit. Available from G 1/16"-27 to G 3"-8; clean threads, coaxial use and inspection without forcing are essential.

The differential GO / NO GO plug gauges for American NPTF taper pipe threads are inspection tools designed to verify the conformity of internal tapered threads according to ANSI / ASME B1.20.3 and B1.20.4 standards. They are suitable for fittings, valve bodies, manifolds, adapters, pneumatic components, hydraulic parts, fluid power elements and mechanical components where a precise American tapered thread is required for reliable mating and applications in which thread sealing performance is critical.

NPTF, National Pipe Taper Fuel, is similar to NPT in taper and general thread layout, but it is designed with stricter requirements for profile control and thread engagement. Unlike standard NPT threads, which normally require sealants, tapes or compounds to ensure sealing, NPTF threads are intended to provide a more effective mechanical seal between thread crest and root when both male and female threads are correctly manufactured. For this reason, inspection with a differential gauge is essential to verify position, engagement depth, taper and geometric conformity of the internal thread.

The GO / NO GO configuration allows the thread acceptance limits to be checked quickly and functionally. The GO side must screw correctly up to the specified inspection position, confirming that the thread meets the minimum requirements for mating. The NO GO side must not exceed the specified limit, helping identify out-of-tolerance, oversized, deformed, incorrectly deep or non-compliant threads that are unsuitable for sealing function. This type of inspection is particularly useful in production, final inspection, maintenance and quality control, where repeatability and safety of the threaded connection must be ensured.

The correct gauge must be selected according to nominal size, threads per inch, required ANSI / ASME standard and the inspection function specified by the technical drawing or inspection cycle. It is important to clearly distinguish NPTF gauges from NPT, BSPT, BSPP, parallel GAS or other inch-based thread gauges, because profile, tolerances, inspection method and sealing function are not interchangeable.

For reliable inspection, the plug gauge must be used on clean threads, free from chips, burrs, oxides, dirt, coolant residues or visible deformation. During checking, correct coaxial alignment with the threaded hole must be maintained and the gauge must screw in without being forced, because misaligned or excessive use may affect the inspection result and damage both the gauge and the inspected component. These gauges are suitable for mechanical workshops, fitting manufacturers, CNC departments, quality control, industrial maintenance, pneumatics, hydraulics, fluid power and technical applications where conformity of American NPTF taper threads is essential for reliability, assembly and sealing performance.
