The DURO-M manual self-centering chuck from Röhm, machined from a single piece of steel with a through bore, is ideally suited for turning and milling on conventional lathes and machining centres. Its flat-milled surfaces reduce weight and rotational inertia, protecting the spindle bearings and enhancing dynamic performance. An integrated drip-rim ensures controlled coolant drainage, while the rear control flange allows run-out measurement with a dial gauge. The hardened and ground flat spiral with optimized tooth profile delivers superior torque transmission in a more compact envelope. Manufactured in Germany in the cylinder-mount version to DIN 6350, Form A, for rear attachment. Images shown are indicative and not proportional.

The DURO-M manual self-centering chuck from Röhm, manufactured entirely from a single piece of steel with a through bore and a cylindrical mounting to Standard DIN 6350 Form A, represents the ultimate solution for those seeking the highest precision and maximum reliability in turning, milling and measuring operations on conventional lathes, rotary tables and machining centres. Thanks to its flat-milled surfaces, engineered to reduce overall weight without compromising rigidity, the DURO-M enhances the system’s dynamic inertia, allowing for faster acceleration, lower energy consumption and additional protection of the spindle bearings; the elimination of superfluous material also provides optimal tool accessibility, simplifying assembly and maintenance tasks.

Around the chuck’s circumference an accurate drip rim has been integrated to ensure controlled coolant drainage, optimising fluid management during machining and reducing cleaning intervals. At the rear, a control flange designed for use with a dial gauge enables extremely precise measurement of the chuck’s concentricity on the machine, guaranteeing consistently perfect alignment and high repeatability of results.

At the heart of the DURO-M lies the flat spiral, born of Röhm’s decades of expertise: its optimised tooth profile and materials, hardened, tempered and balanced with both flanks of the thread ground, transmit the clamping torque to the jaws with efficiency far superior to that of conventional chucks. This technology requires less force to reach maximum clamping pressure while offering greater sensitivity of adjustment; the compact design and low-profile also minimise envelope in the machine bay and reduce weight, enabling higher operational speeds.

Produced in Germany using CNC technologies and controlled hardening processes, the DURO-M chuck is synonymous with “Made in Germany” quality and delivers an excellent price-performance ratio. Optional flanges further extend its versatility by allowing the clamping of non-rotating symmetrical workpieces in milling and measuring applications, ensuring consistent performance across all working conditions.
