The ES series of 4-jaw scroll chucks with flat spiral ring, manufactured by ROHM, is particularly well suited for aligning irregularly shaped workpieces. By turning the dedicated key, the jaws can move along the entire travel path to securely clamp the part. The spiral ring is made of die-forged steel, series-balanced, hardened, and ground to ensure durability and precision. Each jaw can be individually adjusted along the full clamping range, allowing for exact alignment even with complex geometries. To maintain clamping force over time, the chuck must be regularly lubricated. This version features a cylindrical mounting according to DIN 6351 standard, with flange connection, form A.

This geared scroll chuck from the EG Röhm series is designed for aligning and securely clamping irregularly shaped workpieces. The operating principle is based on a radially arranged drive which transfers the motion via a bevel gear to a hardened spiral ring. This movement is then transmitted through the spiral to the base jaws, the spindle, and the reversible jaws. All jaw components are hardened and ground to ensure long-lasting precision and resistance to wear. The chuck body is made of steel and is equipped with a protective cover.

The clamping force is applied by adjusting the jaws across the entire clamping range using a key. This mechanism ensures stable and uniform clamping, even on workpieces with uneven or asymmetrical surfaces.

To maintain optimal clamping performance, regular lubrication is required. Detailed maintenance instructions are included with each chuck. All EG Röhm geared scroll chucks are equipped with grease nipples to allow for fast and efficient servicing. The combination of robust construction, precise transmission, and easy maintenance makes this chuck ideal for demanding machining applications.
