The PCE Instruments PCE-T312N-ICA is a digital contact thermometer designed for professional temperature measurement using type K and type J thermocouples. It is a portable instrument suitable for technicians, maintenance operators, quality managers, laboratory users and industrial professionals who need to check temperatures on machines, systems, mechanical components, surfaces, thermal equipment and production processes. Its compact design, backlit LCD display and dual measuring inputs make it practical for quick checks, comparative measurements and preventive or corrective maintenance tasks.

The measuring range depends on the thermocouple used. With a type K thermocouple, the instrument covers -200 to 1372 °C, while with a type J thermocouple the range is -210 to 1100 °C. This wide measuring capacity allows use in many technical environments, from low-temperature checks to demanding thermal process inspections. The selectable units are °C, °F and K, allowing the instrument to adapt to different working habits or technical documentation requirements.

One of the most useful features of the PCE-T312N-ICA is its two-channel configuration, T1 and T2. The operator can display the temperature of the first point, the second point or the difference T1-T2. This is particularly important when the absolute value is not enough and two areas of the same system must be compared. The PCE-T312N-ICA includes an offset configuration with a compensation range of ±5.0 °C / ±9.0 °F. This function allows the displayed value to be corrected against a known reference, with compensation set individually for each channel. It is useful when the operator wants to align the measurement with a reference condition during internal checks or comparative inspections. For reliable results, the thermocouple must be connected correctly, polarity must be respected, the correct probe type must be selected between K and J, and the value should be allowed to stabilise before being interpreted.

In industrial environments, this thermometer can be used to check temperatures on machine tools, motors, technical panels, mechanical parts, moulds, equipment, heated surfaces, cooling processes, HVAC systems, automotive applications and precision components. When measuring hot components, metal surfaces or operating systems, the operator should work carefully, protect themselves and make sure that the probe is compatible with the temperature and application type. The device must not be used in potentially explosive atmospheres and should be protected from humidity, water splashes, condensation, dust and strong electromagnetic fields.
