The stroboscope is a portable device designed to measure the rotational speed of objects, with a range from 60 to 20,000 revolutions per minute. It is particularly useful for inspecting objects with cyclic movements and detecting faults. The device offers both coarse and fine adjustments to ensure precise measurements. With fine adjustment, the speed can be changed in steps of 0.1 rpm up to 1,000 rpm; beyond that value, the adjustment is made in increments of 1 rpm. Coarse adjustment allows changes in steps of 10 rpm up to 1,000 rpm, and above this threshold, in increments of 100 rpm.

The 2.1" backlit LCD display with 16 mm digits allows data to be viewed even in low light conditions. Illumination is provided by 36 LEDs, ensuring a powerful and reliable light source. The device also features memory for 10 flash frequencies, facilitating quick adjustment between different frequencies. To conserve energy and extend battery life, the stroboscope automatically shuts off after 5 minutes of inactivity. A warning symbol appears on the screen when the battery voltage is low, ensuring proper device operation.

Operating instructions (available in English, Italian in translation)

The stroboscope is a fundamental tool in measurement technology, particularly useful for obtaining a stationary image of moving parts. Its use spans various sectors, from printing to industry, thanks to its ability to precisely visualize and control moving components.

Stroboscope Applications
- Printing: Used to check the printing roller that comes into contact with the printed product, ensuring the quality and precision of the printing process.
- Industry: Employed to determine the speed of rotating parts, such as rollers, providing crucial data for measuring and controlling rotational speed.

Selection Criteria
Flash Frequency:
- Industrial models can reach frequencies of thousands of hertz, allowing optical inspection even with fast sequences.
Light Source Type:
- LED vs. Xenon Bulbs: Modern LED flashes are highly efficient and can offer powerful LED arrays for full illumination of the object. Some stroboscopes feature enlarged LED arrays to inspect large and moving parts.
- UV Light Source: Specific models with UV LEDs are available for non-destructive maintenance checks.
Triggering
- Internal Regulator: For simpler models, an internal regulator manages the flash.
- Trigger Input: More sophisticated models have a trigger input for external speed sensors, synchronizing the flashes with the object's speed, useful for rollers rotating at different speeds.
Frequency and Phase Adjustment
- Modern flashes allow adjustment of the flash frequency and phase, briefly delaying the flash pulse to obtain "optically rotating" images and correctly position the marks on moving parts.

Power Supply and Portability
- Portable Models: If use is occasional, a battery-powered model is sufficient. For frequent use, a model with rechargeable batteries is recommended.
- Fixed Models: Generally powered by an adapter or directly from the mains, offering a continuous power source.

IP Protection Rating
- Environmental Protection: For harsh environments, it is essential to choose a stroboscope with an IP67 protection rating. This level of protection ensures maximum resistance to dust and water, ensuring reliable operation even in adverse conditions.

Conclusion
Choosing the right stroboscope depends on the specific application and usage conditions. Considering the flash frequency, light source type, triggering options, frequency and phase adjustment, portability, and protection rating will help you find the ideal tool for your measurement and control needs.
