PCE Instruments PCE-CSI 30 Crane scales with Hold, Tare and Sum function and display with 75 mm high digits - Range 30 t
(Incl. Tax: €4,919.27)
Digital crane scale with hook for overhead cranes and lifting systems, featuring 30,000 kg capacity, 20 kg resolution and 100 kg minimum load. Equipped with 5-digit LED/LCD display with 75 mm high digits, remote control up to 15 m, Tare, Hold and Sum functions, integrated 6 V / 7 Ah battery with over 40 hours of operation, upper shackle and swivel safety hook. Ideal for industrial weighing, quality control, maintenance and heavy-load handling.
The digital crane scale with hook is an industrial weighing instrument designed to measure suspended loads during lifting, handling and inspection operations in production environments. The product has a measuring range up to 30,000 kg, a robust red-painted structure, an upper shackle for connection to the lifting system, a lower swivel hook with safety device and a front 5-digit LED/LCD display with 75 mm high digits. This configuration allows clear reading even from a distance, which is especially important when the load is suspended at height or when the operator must remain in a safe position away from the handling area.

The scale is suitable for use with overhead cranes, cranes, hoists and lifting systems in machine shops, maintenance departments, metal fabrication workshops, industrial warehouses, automotive companies, quality control departments and production areas where the actual weight of components, equipment, moulds, metal parts, welded structures or heavy mechanical assemblies must be checked. The 30 t capacity and 20 kg resolution make this scale suitable for heavy-duty load control, where laboratory-level micro-measurement is not required but industrial weighing must be reliable, clearly readable and consistent with heavy handling requirements.
The instrument operates with a minimum load of 100 kg and includes several useful functions for daily workshop use. The tare function allows the weight to be zeroed or compensated of ropes, chains, lifting accessories, spreader beams, brackets or other intermediate elements between the hook and the load. This enables the operator to read the net weight of the handled component directly, reducing evaluation errors and simplifying checks during loading, unloading or positioning operations. The Hold function freezes the value shown on the display, which is useful when the load is moving, when the reading must be checked by an operator at a distance or when the value must remain visible after the measurement has stabilized. The Sum function allows multiple weighing operations to be added and a total value to be displayed, which is useful for batch checks, progressive handling of components or total weight verification of several items.
The included remote control allows the scale to be operated by infrared without direct access to the body of the instrument. The stated remote-control range is 15 m, a real advantage in industrial applications because it allows the operator to activate the main functions while maintaining a safer and more comfortable working position. The LED/LCD display with 75 mm high digits is designed to provide good visibility in large working areas such as production departments, loading areas, workshops with overhead cranes or handling zones where the operator is not always close to the instrument.
From a technical point of view, the scale is specified as OIML class III, with a zero range of 4% of the measuring range and a tare range of 100% of the measuring range. The response time ≤ 10 seconds allows a sufficiently fast reading for industrial use while maintaining the required measurement stability. Overload indication is provided at 100% of the measuring range + 9e, while the maximum safety load is 125% of the measuring range and the breaking load is 400% of the measuring range. These values must be interpreted correctly: the scale must be used within its declared nominal capacity and must never be used as a device to exceed permitted lifting limits, but as an instrument for measuring and checking the weight of a suspended load.
The structure includes important connection elements for safety and measurement stability. The upper shackle connects the scale to the overhead crane, crane or lifting system, while the lower swivel hook improves load orientation and reduces the risk of unwanted torsion during handling. The safety device on the hook helps keep the load correctly engaged during operation. In industrial applications it is always advisable to check that the load is centred, that there are no side pulls, that the scale works along the vertical axis and that ropes, chains or lifting accessories are suitable for the mass being handled. Correct weighing depends not only on the instrument itself, but also on the quality of the rigging, load alignment and lifting stability.
The integrated sealed lead-acid battery, 6 V / 7 Ah provides over 40 hours of operation, making the scale suitable for long shifts and continuous use in production departments. The system allows the battery status to be checked and indicates when recharging is required. A 9 V DC / 1000 mA charger is included in the supply. This autonomy is particularly useful in environments where the instrument is used in several workstations, moved between different production areas or used for repeated checks throughout the working day.
The indicated dimensions, together with a total weight of approximately 106 kg, confirm that this is an industrial scale for heavy loads and not a lightweight portable instrument. The data specify a shackle weight of 19.192 kg, ring weight of 11.82 kg and hook weight of 31.5 kg. The main dimensions A 1450 mm, B 660 mm, C 980 mm and D 1130 mm must be considered when selecting the product, because the overall height of the scale affects the available hook height, the useful lifting clearance and the integration with overhead cranes, cranes, chains, spreader beams or existing lifting accessories.
In industrial quality control, this scale can be used to verify the weight of raw parts, semi-finished components, finished parts, equipment, mechanical assemblies or components intended for subsequent machining operations. In machine tool and precision engineering environments, the component weight can be important for selecting the handling system, for safe positioning on the machine table, for managing heavy fixtures or for checking loads intended for machining centres, vertical lathes, boring machines, grinding machines or assembly systems. For corrective and preventive maintenance, the instrument is useful when removing and installing motors, gearboxes, pumps, moulds, tooling, mechanical units and large components.
To obtain reliable measurements, the scale should be used in conditions from -20 °C to 70 °C and with humidity ≤ 85% RH below +20 °C. Before use, it is advisable to check the hook, shackle, safety device, battery and display. During weighing, the load should be lifted gradually, avoiding impacts, shocks, swinging and uncontrolled dynamic loads. The scale should not be used for side pulling or for compensating incorrect rigging, because correct measurement requires a suspended load aligned with the vertical axis and properly stabilized.
This hook scale is therefore a professional solution for heavy loads. The combination of high capacity, high-visibility display and remote control, Tare, Hold and Sum functions, operating autonomy of more than 40 hours and a structure supplied with hook and shackle makes it suitable for industrial departments where suspended-load weighing is part of handling, quality control, maintenance and production management.
