HOLZSTAR 5903510 Oscillating spindle and belt sander, 450 W, model OBSS 100 V, single-phase 230 V, with a powerful motor suitable for all wood-based materials

The OBSS 100 V oscillating spindle and belt sander is a compact and versatile machine for sanding internal and external profiles, contours, arches, curves, shaped edges, flat surfaces and irregular forms. It is designed for woodworking applications and allows both precise finishing on radii and complex profiles and faster sanding on straight surfaces or long edges. The dual spindle and belt configuration makes the machine particularly suitable for workshops, woodworking shops, model making, prototyping and professional finishing work.

The OBSS 100 V model is equipped with a 0.45 kW motor and 230 V power supply. The sanding speed is adjustable from 1,000 to 1,800 rpm, allowing the process to be adapted to wood type, workpiece shape, abrasive grit and required finish. This adjustment provides better control on delicate profiles and allows higher removal rates when finishing tougher materials or larger surfaces.

The oscillating spindle configuration is ideal for sanding internal contours, closed curves, holes, radii, arches and irregular shapes. The combined rotating and oscillating movement distributes abrasive contact along the height of the sleeve, improving surface finish and reducing the risk of local sanding marks. The oscillation speed from 29 to 52 rpm and 16 mm stroke allow more uniform processing and promote more even abrasive wear.

The machine uses abrasive sleeves in diameters Ø 13, 19, 26, 38 and 51 mm. Selecting the correct diameter allows the radius or shape of the workpiece to be followed more accurately. Smaller diameters are suitable for internal openings, holes and tight curves, while larger diameters are ideal for wider contours, rounded edges and larger shaped profiles. This flexibility is useful when different components are processed in the same working session.

The belt function extends the machine’s range of use and allows sanding of edges, flat surfaces, straight profiles and small workpieces requiring linear sanding. The sanding belt measures 610 x 100 mm, with a sanding surface of 210 x 100 mm and belt speed of 7.2 m/sec. This configuration is useful for finishing long sides, correcting small cutting defects, preparing surfaces before assembly or evening wooden parts after preliminary machining.

Switching between spindle and belt function is quick and easy, allowing the operator to adapt the machine to the operation without using two separate tools. This feature is particularly advantageous in workshops with limited space or in departments where flat surfaces and curved profiles are frequently processed alternately. The vertical rotating and oscillating action helps create smooth surfaces and improves working speed.

The worktable measures 400 x 407 mm and can be tilted with continuous adjustment from 0° to 45°. Additional fixed angle stops are available at 0°, 15°, 22.5°, 30° and 45°, useful for fast and repeatable settings. The stable table allows the workpiece to be guided safely during sanding and helps achieve greater precision on inclined edges, chamfers, angled profiles and components requiring constant geometry.

The structure is compact and lightweight, easy to transport and store. The 12.5 kg weight provides good stability during use, while bench fixing holes allow the machine to be securely mounted for more demanding work or larger pieces. Stability of the table and machine body is important for regular sanding and for reducing vibration, inaccuracies and unwanted movement.

The integrated Ø 39 mm extraction nozzle allows connection to an external extraction system. Sanding wood produces fine dust that can dirty the work area and reduce visibility of the workpiece. Connecting an extractor helps keep the bench cleaner, improves visual control of the process and contributes to a more orderly working environment.

The standard equipment includes 5 P80 abrasive sleeves in diameters Ø 13, 19, 26, 38 and 51 mm, 5 matching inserts, 4 rubber-coated sanding drums with 115 mm height in diameters Ø 19, 26, 38 and 51 mm, 3 spindle discs Ø 16, 20 and 35 mm, assembly tool, P80 sanding belt 100 x 610 mm and workpiece stop. This set allows different operations to be started immediately and makes it possible to quickly adapt the machine to different profiles, radii and surfaces.

The OBSS 100 V is suitable for woodworking, model making, furniture production, template construction, finishing shaped parts, rounding edges, cleaning internal cuts, surface preparation before painting or gluing and precision work on wooden components. It is also useful in technical schools and prototyping departments where a simple, stable and multifunctional machine is needed to process workpieces of different shapes.

For good results, it is advisable to choose the sleeve or belt best suited to the operation, adjust speed according to the material, keep the workpiece well supported on the table, use the workpiece stop when necessary and apply moderate pressure. Excessive pressure can wear the abrasive quickly, generate overheating and alter profile geometry. It is also important to connect extraction, check abrasive condition and replace abrasives when removal performance decreases.

The OBSS 100 V oscillating spindle and belt sander is therefore a complete solution for finishing wooden workpieces with different geometries. The combination of 0.45 kW motor, variable speed, oscillating spindle function, belt function, 400 x 407 mm table adjustable up to 45°, sleeves in different diameters, 610 x 100 mm sanding belt, extraction nozzle and complete accessory set makes it ideal for professional, craft and workshop applications.
