The PGS Borletti granite surface plates are manufactured from high-stability natural granite and designed for high-precision dimensional inspection tasks in metrology laboratories, inspection rooms and quality control departments. The working surface is carefully lapped to ensure long-term flatness and measurement reliability.

The grade 00 version represents the highest metrological accuracy level and is suitable for reference and calibration applications. The material provides high hardness, ranging from 7 to 8.5 MOHS (60–70 HRC), a specific weight of 3 kg/dm³, and very low porosity of 0.76%, minimizing wear and contamination absorption.

The plate offers excellent mechanical strength, with compression resistance between 1600 and 2400 kg/cm² and flexural strength between 100 and 175 kg/cm², making it suitable for intensive professional use. The very low linear thermal expansion coefficient, (5–6.7) × 10⁻⁶ °C⁻¹, ensures dimensional stability even under temperature variations, while the thermal conductivity of 2.5–3.4 kcal (m·h·°C) promotes uniform heat distribution.
