The Nuova PTM CNB/L live center is designed for turning, finishing and workpiece support on conventional lathes, engine lathes and CNC turning machines where stable, precise and reliable rotating support is required. The version with reduced head and extended point allows better access to narrow machining areas and is particularly useful when the available working space between tool, workpiece and tailstock center is limited.

This live center belongs to the Nuova PTM CN series, known for its robust construction, compact rigid body and excellent performance-to-price ratio. It is suitable for medium load applications and for machining the main materials used in mechanical workshops, including structural steels, free-cutting steels, alloy steels, cast iron, light alloys, brass, bronze and non-ferrous materials, always depending on cutting parameters, workpiece weight and clamping conditions.

The internal system is built with bearings and thrust bearings assembled in ground seats, allowing smooth rotation, good axial and radial stability and correct load distribution during machining. The point geometry supports accurate workpiece centering and helps reduce vibration, misalignment and instability during turning operations, especially in finishing work or when machining long components in relation to their diameter.

The WPS - Water Protection System protects the internal parts of the live center against dust, chips and coolant, helping preserve bearing efficiency and service life. The internal lubrication system uses permanent grease, so the live center normally requires limited maintenance. During the first working hours, a slight grease leakage may occur; this is a normal condition caused by the initial settling of the internal lubrication.

The Nuova PTM CNB/L live center is engineered for high-speed turning operations while maintaining good rotational accuracy and stable performance over time. During operation, the live center may reach temperatures above 60°C, which is compatible with its intended use, especially in continuous machining or long production cycles. Periodic inspection is nevertheless recommended, especially in intensive use, in applications with high coolant exposure or in production environments with heavy contamination from chips and metal dust.

Thanks to its reduced head, extended point, medium load capacity and selectable Morse taper, this live center is suitable for machine shops, maintenance departments, industrial production and precision turning applications requiring a compact, reliable and well-protected rotating support.
