The countersink tools for flush head screws UNI 6844 – DIN 1866 are chip removal tools designed to create the 90° countersunk profile necessary for a UNI 5933 screw within a hole. They are made from HSSE material and feature 4 right-hand flutes with a 25° angle, generating 4 cutting edges for the removal of materials such as steel and alloys. It is advised to consult experts for use on durable materials such as titanium or hardened steels above HRC50. These screws increase the bearing and clamping surface.

What are UNI 6844 - DIN 1866 countersunk screw seat milling cutters

Lamination tools, or countersunk screw seat milling cutters, are cutting tools that are used to profile the 90-degree angle countersunk head of a UNI 5933 screw inside the hole of a workpiece so that the angle of the screw adheres perfectly to the countersink created in the hole.

How the cutters are made

The cutters are made from HSSE material and are stripped with 4 helixes right a 25° angle, thus making 4 cutting edges that generate the removal of material that can be steel or any other material.

For particularly hard materials such as Titanium, hardened steels HRC50 or higher, nickel alloys or other special materials, it is preferable to seek technical advice from Tadaah who will provide the necessary technical support before purchase.

When countersunk screws are used.

1)They are mainly used to increase the bearing and clamping surface of the screw. In case multiple countersunk head clamping screws are installed, it is most important that the position of the axes of the threaded component with the component having the head countersink be extremely precise. Lack of precision results in contact of the angular surface of the head not being complete in 360° of the contact band between seat and screw.

2) In frequent cases, they are also used for mounting plates, sheet metal covers usually bulky and having slim thicknesses.

In this case usually the threaded part is an insert that lodges in a seat that allows the insert to self-align with respect to the sheet metal having the countersink
