30SGAL Solid carbide chipbreaker end mills for aluminium, Z3, 45° helix, 40° angle, flat end
(Incl. Tax: €30.50)
The solid carbide chipbreaker end mills are designed for machining aluminium and light alloys on CNC machining centres, automatic machines and conventional machine tools. The 3-flute geometry with round chipbreaker supports controlled chip formation during material removal, reducing the risk of long chips, chip accumulation in the cutting zone and instability during milling. This feature is particularly useful when machining aluminium, where efficient chip evacuation is essential to maintain process continuity, surface quality and tool life.
The 45° helix supports smooth and progressive cutting action, helping reduce vibration, irregular cutting forces and marks on the machined surface. The 40° angle and frontal cutting geometry allow the cutters to be used for end milling as well as side milling operations. The flat end geometry allows machining of regular bottoms, slots, pockets, shoulders and controlled surfaces, while the peripheral cutting edges support profiling, vertical wall machining and contouring. In frontal machining, the end of the tool works on the bottom surface or during entry into the material; in side milling, the peripheral cutting edges control walls, shoulders and profile geometry.
The correct version must be selected according to machining depth, tool overhang, radial engagement ae, axial depth ap and the overall rigidity of the machine-spindle-workpiece system. These cutters are suitable for milling strategies A and B on aluminium alloys, with parameters adjusted according to diameter and machining strategy.
To obtain maximum performance, precise and rigid toolholding systems, high-quality collet chucks or high-precision clamping systems should be used, keeping runout low and tool overhang as short as possible. Incorrect clamping can generate vibration, premature cutting-edge wear, poor finishing and loss of dimensional accuracy. Workpiece clamping is equally important: a stable workpiece reduces micro-movements, deflection and irregularities during milling, improving repeatability, tool life and surface quality. These end mills are suitable for mechanical workshops, CNC aluminium machining, automotive components, precision metalworking, light equipment, milled parts and applications requiring efficient chip evacuation, regular finishing and reliable dimensional control.
