The Nuova PTM CN series live centres for medium loads are designed for turning, finishing and workpiece support on conventional lathes and high-speed turning applications. Their compact and rigid construction provides stable support during machining, helping to reduce vibration, misalignment and surface finishing problems.

The CN series is suitable for mechanical applications requiring a reliable balance between precision, rigidity and cost-performance ratio. The extremely compact external body allows use even where working space is limited, while maintaining dependable support during workpiece rotation. The 60° point ensures correct contact with the centre hole of shafts, bars, cylindrical parts and turned components.

The internal construction includes bearings and thrust bearings assembled in ground seats, with permanent grease lubrication. This system allows smooth and continuous operation without frequent routine maintenance. During the first working hours, slight grease leakage may occur; this is normal and is caused by the initial settling of the internal lubrication system.

The WPS Water Protection System protects the internal components of the live centre against dust, chips and coolant penetration. Seals and oil rings help preserve the bearings and internal surfaces, improving reliability in production environments where emulsions, coolants and machining residues are present. The indicative service life declared for each model is at least 1200 hours, depending on operating conditions, applied load, rotational speed and correct use on the workpiece.

Nuova PTM CN series live centres are suitable for machine shops, production departments, industrial maintenance, toolrooms and general metal turning applications. They generally do not require maintenance, although periodic inspection is recommended, especially in intensive use, constant coolant exposure or continuous-load machining. During operation, the live centre may reach temperatures above 60°C; this can be considered normal depending on speed, load and working conditions.
