CARMEX Coated GX7 right-handed Swiss Line micrograin PVD insert sizes 40 and 25 for performing groove turning on CNC lathes and with live tooling, with width of your choice
(Incl. Tax: €53.92)
The GX7 micrograin inserts are designed by CARMEX to meet the machining needs of CNC lathes and live tooling. With a width of 4 mm and a length of 8 mm, this left-hand insert is perfect for executing plunge grooves, ensuring superior performance across a wide range of materials, including low and high carbon steels, titanium alloys, and cast iron. The triple-layer PVD coating protects the cutting edge, maintaining the micrograin integrity during chip removal. Ideal for applications in the automotive, aerospace, and medical sectors, this insert offers customized cutting speeds ranging from 40 to 160 meters per minute, delivering high precision and quality results.
GX7 inserts designed and manufactured by Carmex, are triple coated PVD inserts with a micro grain construction designed for machining on CNC and sliding headstock or swiss type machine tools. The use of this insert can be found in the machining of a wide range of low and high carbon steels, stainless steels, steel alloys, nickel alloys, cast iron and steel castings, hardened steel up to 58-HRC hardness, hardened and tempered steel, titanium and titanium alloys. The coating and lapping of the cutting edge allows the micro grain of the insert to be maintained during the chip removal operation. They find excellent application for machining steel castings, austenitic stainless steels, cast iron castings. Parts made with this type of insert allow the production of turned valve parts in the automotive, aerospace, medical and dental sectors, high-tech machining for precision turned metal parts.
The cutting speed parameters for the Carmex GX7 insert are customised and calculated according to the material to be machined.
The cutting speed, as can be seen from the table, is between 40 and 160 metres per minute. The correct choice must be determined through many factors such as: type of coolant used, whether the coolant used has a high-pressure system and a refrigeration unit to maintain a constant temperature of 30°C, chemical composition of the material to be machined, chipability and chip control during machining of the material, depth of pass, machine condition. The tool feed is highly dependent on the degree of finish and roughness of the workpiece and the depth of pass the insert is subjected to. An aid to the correct choice of tool feed is provided by the constant monitoring of the temperature developed during chip removal and evacuation from the working area of the machine tool.
Tadaah is able to service the customer in the development and optimal choice of machining parameters, sharing and analysing defective parts given with the customer, also offering a consultancy service for the identification of any machining problems, checking with the customer the current state of rigidity of the machine tool.
