SCHUNK TRIBOS-S HSK-A63 polygonal toolholders for high-precision cutting applications. Backlash-free clamping through elastic deformation with run-out < 0.003 mm. SCHUNK TRIBOS-S HSK-A63 polygonal toolholders are designed for high-precision cutting applications requiring high torque transmission and maximum rigidity, especially when using larger diameter tools.
The operating principle is based on controlled elastic deformation of the polygonal clamping bore. Using TRIBOS SVP clamping devices, the internal profile is temporarily transformed into a circular shape, allowing tool insertion. Once pressure is released, the holders return to their original polygonal shape, ensuring uniform, backlash-free clamping with optimal force distribution.
This system eliminates cumulative tolerances of conventional clamping systems, achieving run-out below 0.003 mm at 2.5 x D with excellent repeatability. The toolholders are designed for h6 shank tools, ensuring stable torque transmission even under heavy loads.
Their extremely slim design allows machining in difficult-to-reach areas, while the symmetrical design balanced G2.5 at 25,000 rpm enables high-speed machining up to 85,000 rpm, ensuring excellent dynamic stability and surface finish.
The toolholders feature axial length adjustment with 10 mm travel for precise presetting and reduced setup time. Compatibility with reduction sleeves allows an extended clamping range.
They support coolant supply up to 100 bar and MQL systems, improving chip evacuation and tool life. The HSK-A63 interface ensures maximum rigidity and precision connection to the machine spindle.
