Threaded rings

Threaded rings are made of high-quality steel with excellent hardness. They are internally threaded with the exact dimensions of the thread profile type and its size. They are usually sold in pairs and are used to verify if a thread meets the specified tolerance during the production of parts. This method of control is the most reliable and fast, allowing the inspection of multiple pieces with masked times while the machine is in production. Rings are sold in pairs as one ring is called "go" and the internal threading is made to the maximum tolerance. The operator, by screwing the ring onto the piece, verifies that it screws freely onto the worked piece. Once this operation is confirmed, the "no-go" ring is used, recognizable by a red stripe placed on the circumference of the maximum diameter of the ring and the threading is made with the thread at the minimum tolerance. The ring must not screw onto the piece. Usually, a screw tolerance of up to 1.5 turns is allowed. This operation is important to determine if the thread profile, core diameter, and average piece diameter are not too small, and thus the coupling between the control ring thread and the piece thread does not have excessive play. "Go" and "no-go" rings are available for metric, fine metric, BSPT, UNC, UNF, GAS, NPT, NPTF threads. Conical GAS threaded rings are also available.
